Summary of thermal spraying equipments

Brief of thermal spraying:

Thermal spraying (thaw shot and spray) is a process with a long history of technology, mainly related to materials science and engineering of materials processing technology.

Thermal spraying (spraying melt shot) is the use of a flame, arc, plasma and other effective and practical heat source, a certain shape and size of the material (metal or alloy wire, all kinds of powder materials, rods, etc.) rapidly heated to a molten or instant a semi-molten state while in these materials is atomized and accelerated delivery to impact (firing) the substrate material on a substrate to flatten rapidly, rapid cooling and solidification is deposited and accumulated in the substrate surface to form a cover coating material molding method.Because the melting and thermal spray jets two important links, so we also call it thaw shot and spray.

Thermal spraying (thaw shot material) as one of the key technologies of surface engineering, preparation of functional coating is corrosion-resistant and important technical means and equipment manufacturing and other fields.Compared to other materials preparation technology, thermal spraying process is flexible, easy to master and operate, can spaymany kinds of coating materials, coating quality, wide range of applications, economic benefits and so on.

With the progress of machining technology, advanced electrolysis, ultrasonic cutting and grinding tools introduced to the coating processing, continuously improve product quality after coating process also increases the scope of application of thermal spray.

Coating functions:

On the basis of the U.S. FNLONGO classification of thermal spray coating method, according to the functions, coatings can be divided into:

1、Wear-resistant coating. Include the coating which resists adhesive wear, surface fatigue wear and erosion. Thereinto, under some conditions, there are anti-low temperature(<538 ℃) wear coating and anti-high temperature(538 ~ 843 ℃) wear coating.

2、Heat-resistant and anti-oxidation coating. Include the coatings applied during the high-temperature process (including oxidation atmosphere, corrosive gas, erosion and thermal barrier which is higher than 843 ℃) and coatings applied during metal fusion process (including molten zinc, molten aluminum, molten iron and steel, molten copper) .

3、The coating which resist the atmospheric corrosion and impregnating corrosion. Atmospheric corrosion includes corrosions brought about by industrial atmosphere, salt atmosphere, field atmosphere, etc; Impregnating corrosion includes corrosions caused by drinkable freshwater, non-potable freshwater, hot freshwater, brine, chemical and food processing, etc.

4、Conductometric and resistive coatings. This kind of coating is for conductance, resistance and shield.

5、The coating which can recover the dimension. The coating is used for iron-based (carbon steel and anti-corrosion steel which can be cut and grinded) products and non-ferrous metals (nickel, cobalt, copper, aluminum, titanium and their alloys) products.

6、 Gap control coating for mechanical components. The coating can be grinded.

7、 Corrosion-resistant chemical coating. Chemical corrosion includes various corrosions about acid, alkali, salt, different inorganic matter and organic chemical medium.
